With a landscape that can best be described as an outdoorsman’s paradise, plenty of state parks, and wonderful privately-owned campgrounds, there’s a very different camping experience to be had no matter where you decide to go camping in Massachusetts.

By far and away, our favorite has to be Autumn. The best time for leaf peeping is typically during the last two weeks of September and the first two weeks of October when the leaves are at their peak. While there are plenty of scenic routes throughout Massachusetts that are perfect for leaf peeping, including the Mohawk Trail, and Cape Cod, One of the best places to experience the foliage is in the Berkshire Mountains. With plenty of hiking trails to explore, you can take in all the natural beauty that Massachusetts has to offer.

Although it might be a little cooler than usual, Autumn is the perfect time to go camping in Massachusetts. The cooler weather means that you won’t have to deal with the harsh heat of summer, but it’s not so cold that you’ll be uncomfortable camping.
